honoured an Outstanding
Nurses Award
by
The
Association for Healthcare Management Professionals - India ( AHMP)
for their exemplary service
during Covid 19 pandemic.

AHMP (The Association for Healthcare Management Professionals - India)
the well lnown professional national body of Medical,para medical and
professionals and health administrators and academicians in the forefront
of addressing the issues of the medical
frtaternity and enhancing patient care had invited nominations from eligible
‘Village Health Nurses’ to be acknowledged and honoured for extenging selfless
service the socially and economically backward sections of society especially
women living in the rural pockets not served by basic ameneties.
The event turned out to be an
emotionally charged and moving experience for the nominees, esteemed judges and
the laere number of audience gathered to witness the same and the AHMPI was
lauded for this noble initiative and thanked wholeheartedly for its thoughtful
gesture on the occasion of ‘World Nurses Day’.
It is noteworthy to mention here
that the Village Health Nurses assembled on the occasion are shining examples
of service and dedication who extendedthe same to humanity notwithstanding
their personal health risk ,negotiating their way through unfriendly roads and
lanes with a steadfast dedication to their committed task. They reached out to
pregnant women needing help through door to door visits and spreading awareness
and making referrals where required.
They created awareness on Covid19
is symptoms,spread,prevention measures and treatment during their rouind of
these rural pockets and it could be said that but fort for their herculean
efforts the vaccination program may not have been such a huge success.
The AHMP ( India) felt that the
Association should identify at least a few of them, recognize their services
and reward them through " Outstanding Nurses Award '' and a handsome
reward as well.
Prof Datuk Dr Muthusamy
Palanisamy eminent medical professional and humanitarian from Malaysia was the
Chief Guest and Judge for the Award ceremony and distributed the certificates. Prof
. P Muthu is an eminent ophthalmologist and over the years has become a
household name in Sabah, Malaysia. He is the first Malaysian Eye Specialist in
the State of Sabah in Malaysia .In 1978, he along with a colleague, established
the first Specialty Hospital in Sabah, the KOTA KINABALU SPECIALIST CENTRE. It
is now a premier medical centre serving the people of Sabah.He established a
name for himself by his professional proficiency and also through his yeoman
service to the people through the Lions club of Sabah. The Malaysian government
has honored him with the highly prestigious ‘Datuk’ and ‘Justice of Peace’ awards in recognition of his long dedicated
service. He is the OVERSEAS ADVISER on the SURGICAL SPECIALTY BOARD IN
OPHTHALMOLOGY of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was
acknowledged as among the “101
Most Fabulous Healthcare Leaders - 2020” of the world
Awardees were highly emotional
and happy to receive this kind of recognition award and expressed their
happiness and thanked AHMP for this.
An independent expert panel consisting of senior
medical professionals and administrators reviewed the nominations and selected
17 nurses for this Commendation.
The proud winners
Mrs Vinotha, Senior Nurse from
Elampillai Govt PHC of Salem, Expressed that it is an
emotional movement and it is a unique recognition of her services by the AHMP
India on the occasion of World Nurses day 2022. She has successfully handled
4518 normal deliveries in her 30 years of service Services and extended excellent
service during the Pandemic too.
Mrs Karpgam of Egattur PHC of
Tiruvallur Dist, Mentioned it is a great
initiative of AHMP India to recognize the services and Award and reward the
Village Health Nurses and highly appreciated the ionitiative. She added
that it is a great motivation for he nurses to do more services to the society.
Ms Karpagam successfully handled the Vaccination of Brick Chamber workers and
Narikuravaas in her village.
Mrs Fathima Mary, Padiyanallur,PHC became highly emotional and hailed the award as the
first of it kind recognition and she shared that her entire family and friends
were highly happy.
Mrs Uma Maheswari, Kapparathampatty PHC of
Salem Dist was highly happy and shared
her feeling that this kind of motivation will encourage VHNs to do more for our
society, she highly appreciated the AHMP
India for the great initiative
Doctors, Healthcare Professionals
and Nurses numbering over 100 were present in this unique Award Ceremony.
Dr A Mahalingam, President of Healthcare Association, coordinated this
program and congratulated the awardees and organizers, he expressed his sincere
thanks to the esteemed judges and patrons for their support in making the event
a grand success.
